Gregory K. Shaeffer

Principal

With his background in operational planning and business development in pharmaceutical companies, Gregory K. Shaeffer is guiding the Shaeffer Consulting Group LLC through rapid growth and positioning us for future success.

Experience

As a principal of our firm, Greg has more than 20 years of experience of significant corporate and health system experience to lead clients in comprehensive pharmacy solutions including project assessment, strategic business development, implementation plans, corporate communications and operations management. His team approach results in increased profitability, reduced costs and improved patient satisfaction for the overall organization.

His previous roles include Vice President of Consulting at Pharmacy Healthcare Solutions, a division of AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation; Vice President of Pharmacy at Geisinger Health Plan; Clinical Education Consultant for Pfizer, Inc.; Director of Ambulatory and Alternate Care Services for The Enright Group, Executive Health System Director for McKessonHBOC/MedManagement and the Director of Pharmacy Services for Penn State's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Education and Professional Affiliations

Greg graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from Temple University's School of Pharmacy. He earned his executive MBA from the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple as well.

Throughout his career, Greg has held numerous teaching, clinical instruction and educational advisory appointments/roles. His professional memberships include the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Fraternity. He has served as a Delegate and Member on the Council on Administrative Affairs (political advocate for pharmacy initiatives and legislation).

Greg is an accomplished conference and seminar presenter and expert on a wide range of healthcare and pharmacy topics. He has also been published in numerous healthcare and pharmaceutical journals, trade publications and magazines.

Sean M. Lynch

Principal

A member of our senior leadership team, Sean M. Lynch helps The Shaeffer Consulting Group LLC forge long-term relationships with our clients. He leads our business development efforts with a focus on providing clients with site assessments, mergers & acquisitions, lease negotiations as well as developing customized strategic marketing initiatives.

Experience

Sean has more than 32 years of comprehensive experience in community and ambulatory pharmacy at the retail, grocery chain, and health system levels. Over his career, he has provided strategic planning, feasibility studies, site analysis, inventory assessments and strategic marketing communication plans in a variety of pharmacy-related environments. Throughout his career, he has assisted in the opening of over 360 pharmacies across the United States as well as abroad.

As Executive VP for S & L Solutions LLC, Sean has served hundreds of community retail and ambulatory pharmacies with strategic planning, feasibility studies, comprehensive market research, site development planning, talent acquisition, business partnering as well as mergers and acquisitions. He has been instrumental in negotiating on behalf of both buyers and sellers as well as providing guidance in establishing favorable leases for pharmacies within multiple settings.

Sean has helped develop and execute comprehensive marketing/communication programs which have positively impacted top-line revenue and helped build long-term pharmacy relationships with patients, employees, families and communities. He has authored and presented CE programs for pharmacists pertaining to sales and marketing.

Education and Professional Affiliations

Sean received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dayton in Business Communications, with a focus in marketing and management. He is also a Dale Carnegie graduate.

In addition, Sean has served as the Chairman of Pharmacy Industry Associates and has held several key roles in several state pharmacists associations. He's been a member of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, the Pennsylvania Pharmacy Council, the Pennsylvania Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and the National Association of Community Pharmacists.

Mark G. Gruss, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

With over 26 years of tax and consulting experience as a Certified Public Accountant, Mark currently serves as CFO with The Shaeffer Consulting Group LLC

His expertise lies in operational management consulting, payroll and tax planning for small closely held companies including start-up businesses. Mark uses a team approach, working with clients as well as their legal and financial advisors to help them achieve their goals in a tax efficient manner.

Experience

Working with end-users and support staff, Mark has gained enormous experience and is able to apply this culminated knowledge to aid clients in the design and analysis of reported information. His background in business information technology, systems analysis, various IT systems and internet based technology has helped him mold these tools to maximize his clients' profitability.

He specializes in both federal and state income tax planning for businesses and individuals. In addition, he has experience serving clients with multi-state payroll and related taxes; individual and corporate wealth management; management support consultation; pharmacy management; and business projections and cash flow analysis. Mark has also assisted clients with various technical and complex accounting issues.

Education and Professional Affiliations

Mark earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations/Accounting from Saint Vincent College. As a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania, Mark's licensing credentials include Series 7 and 63. He's currently a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
